Answer: Hello there!

The pairs in the table are: 3 carrots to 9 cucumbers, (dividing both sides by 3, we get 1 carrot to 3 cucumbers) wich has a ratio of 1:3.

after we got 4 carrots to 12 cucumbers, we could divide both sides by 4, and we also get a ratio of 1:3

And we can see this for all the pairs in the table, you always need to use cucumbers equal to three times the amount of carrots tat you used.

So if you use one carrot you need to use 3 cucumbers; wich ads to a total of 4 vegetables.

This is the less amount of vegetables that you can use because you can't use less than one carrot. (because you need to use whole vegetables)

Then the correct option is C.

(a) Brand X median  = 13
      Brand Y median = 16

Median is the center dot in the shaded box (in blue color). Look at the Time (h) axis for their values. For Brand X it is 13 whereas for the Brand Y it is 16

(b) If we compare their median values we can see that the difference is 3 hours (16-13 = 3). It means that the Brand Y battery will last longer compared to Brand X battery as Brand Y lasts for 16 hours whereas Brand X battery lasts for 13 hours.
