Find the LMC of 12 and 30

Answer: 60

Step-by-step explanation: To find the least common multiple for the integers 12 and 30, we start by making a factor tree for each of our integers.

So 12 is 6 x 2 and 6 is 3 x 2.

30 is 10 × 3 and 10 is 5 x 2.

Notice from the image attached that our 2's match up as factors of each our integers and our 3's also match up as factors of each our integers.

When finding the least common multiple, we simply multiply all of our factors together but since the 2's match up and the 3's match up, we only multiply by a 2 and a 3 once.

So our least common multiple or lcm is 2 · 3 · the 5 that doesn't match up · the 7 that doesn't match up.

So we have 2 times 3 which is 6, times 5 which is 30,

times 2 which is 60.

Also, it's important to notice that there are two 2's when we factored 30 but they don't match up because they're from the same integer.

So the least common multiple for 12 and 30 is 60.

Answer:

60.

Step-by-step explanation:

I guess you mean the LCM (Lowest Common Multiple):

12 = 2 * 2 * 3

30 = 2 * 3 * 5

We see there are duplicate 2's and 3's so:

So the LCM is 2 * 2 * 3 * 5 = 60.

(the duplicates only appear once in the calculation).

How would the mean change if the number 52 replaced the number 12 in the set?
m_a_m_a [10]

Answer:

increase

Step-by-step explanation:

First, we need to find the mean of the given data set without any change.

10 + 61 + 10 + 44 + 21 + 79 + 27 + 12 = 264

264 ÷ 8 = 33

Now that we have the mean, we can find the mean of the data set with the change of 52.

10 + 61 + 10 + 44 + 21 + 79 + 27 + 52 = 304

304 ÷ 8 = 38

From this, we can see that the mean has increased with the change of 12 to 52. Thus, that's the correct option.

hope this helps!
