- 10 + SQRT(x + 8) = - 4

Radical Equatiion Entered:

- 10 + SQRT(x + 8) = - 4

Step by step Solution 1:
Isolate the square root on the left hands side.

Original Equation:
- 10 + SQRT(x + 8) = - 4

Isolate: SQRT(x + 8) = 10 - 4

Tidy up:
SQRT (x + 8) = 6

Step 2: Eliminate the radical on the left hand sied:

Raise both sides to the Second Power:

(SQRT X + 8)^2 = (6)^2

After Squaring
X + 8 = 36

Step 3: Solve Linear equation:

Rearrange Equation:
x - 28 = 0

Add 28 to both sides:
x = 28

Possible solution is:

X = 28

Step 4 CHECK:

Original equation, root isolated, after tidy up.

SQRT(x + 8) = 6

Plug in 28 for X
SQRT(28) + 8 = 6

Simplify:
SQRT(36) = 6

Solution Check is
X = 28

Answer:
(A.);  X = 28

Find the area of the isosceles trapezoid below by using the area formulas for rectangles and triangles.
marusya05 [52]
The area of the isosceles trapezoid is 136 cm2

To find the area of the trapezoid, first we need to make an exact triangle to the other side of the trapezoid, just like in the diagram is showing, ( so you will have 2 triangles in the trapezoid, thinks about that the triangle that is on the diagram is reflecting to the other side) then we have a rectangle on the center of the trapezoid, we use the area formula which is would be 8x13=104, then we take the area formula of the triangle and substitute, which would be (1/2)8x4=16, we multiply 16 by 2 to get 32, this would be the area of the two triangles plus the area of the rectangle which is 104 gives a total of 136 cm2

Hope this help!!! :)

Is ABC DEF? If so, identify the similarity postulate or theorem that applies.
VladimirAG [237]

We are given traingle ABC and Triangle DEF.

Angle <A is congruent to Angle <D

Angle <B is congruent to Angle <E

Angle <C is congruent to Angle <F.

If two pairs of corresponding angles are congruent to each other, then the triangles are similar by Angle-Angle Similarity.

<em>By Angle-Angle similarity postulate triangle ABC and triangle DEF are similar.</em>

Therefore, option C is correct option.

What is the sum of the exterior angles of a convex polygon?
Volgvan

Answer:

A

Step-by-step explanation:

The sum of the exterior angles for each polygon is always 360°.

The sum of the interior angles for each polygon is always 180°(n-2).

If you have n-sided convex polygon, then

\left(\text{Sum of all interior angles}\right)+ \left(\text{ Sum of all exterior angles}\right)=180^{\circ}\cdot n

So,

\left(\text{Sum of all interior angles}\right)+ 180^{\circ}\cdot (n-2)=180^{\circ}\cdot n\\ \\\left(\text{Sum of all interior angles}\right)=180^{\circ}\cdot n-180^{\circ}\cdot (n-2)=180^{\circ}\cdot (n-n+2)=360^{\circ}
