I totally understand how they can be frustrating. Try drawing it out as a picture. Draw a straight horizontal line to show where surface of the pool is at. This line is considered to be at 0 meters. Since the swimmer is measured to be 2.3 meters tall with their arms stretched up, and the diving board they are on is 10 meters high, their maximum height is 10m+2.3m which is 12.3m. The depth of the pool, since the surface of the pool is 0m, would be -5.5m (don't forget to always include the unit of measurement, whether it's feet, meters, inches!). Since the diver goes from 12.3m to -5.5m, I would find how far they traveled by writing -5.5m-12.3m=-17.8m; that is, the driver traveled down 17.8 meters.

For the following rectangular prism, find the length of the diagonal connecting A to B. Round to the nearest tenth.
meriva

Answer:

I think it is 192

Step-by-step explanation:

Volume of cube: 5 x 4 x 8 = 160

Area of diagonal: 160/2 = 80

Length of diagonal: 80 / 0.5 x 3 = 480

AB = 480 / 5 x 2 = 192

Neptune is an average distance of 4.5 × 10^9 km from the Sun. Estimate the length of the Neptunian year using the fact that the
zlopas [31]

Answer:

Answer:

164.32 earth year

Step-by-step explanation:

distance of Neptune, Rn = 4.5 x 10^9 km

distance of earth, Re = 1.5 x 10^8 km

time period of earth, Te = 1 year

let the time period of Neptune is Tn.

According to the Kepler's third law

T² ∝ R³

\left ( \frac{T_{n}}{T_{e}} \right )^{2}=\left ( \frac{R_{n}}{R_{e}} \right )^{3}

\left ( \frac{T_{n}}{1} \right )^{2}=\left ( \frac{4.5\times10^{9}}}{1.5\times10^{8}}} \right )^{3}

Tn = 164.32 earth years

Thus, the neptune year is equal to 164.32 earth year.
