Solution-

The profit function given in the question,

P(x)=5.152x^3-143x^2+1102x-1673

Where,

x = the number of houses built in a year

We can calculate y-intercept by putting x=0, so

=5.152(0)^3-143(0)^2+1102(0)-1673

=0-0+0-1673

=-1673

y-intercept is -1673, i.e when x=0 or the number of houses built is 0, their profit is -1673. Actually it is not the profit, but loss. So if they don't build any house, they will lose $1673

We can calculate x-intercept or zeros by putting y=0, so

5.152x^3-143x^2+1102x-1673=0

Calculating the zeros by graphing calculator, they are as follows,

x=2,\ 11.019,\ 14.737

x-intercept shows that they need to built at least 15 (as number house can not be fraction) houses, in order to start profiting. Even though they start profiting after building 2 houses, but then the profit starts decreasing and reaches 0 again and so does happen after building 11th house. (It might happen due to the other costs and investments used for building the houses ). But after finally building 15th house they start profiting.

How many Positive Integers are there between 20 to 100 exclusively?
maksim [4K]

Answer:

79

Step-by-step explanation:

There is a cool easy way to solve this kind of problem. If a range is given, and the entire range increases in incrememnts of 1, then you can find the number intergers inclusive by taking the first number and subtracting it from the last and adding 1. Since in this problem you want it exclusive, we can rewrite the range to 21-99.

99-21 +1 = 78 + 1 = 79

8. Find the congruence transformation that maps ∆ABC to ∆A’B’C’. Explain your reasoning
tino4ka555 [31]

In this case, to flip any of the points to map up accurately to the other points, we would have to do a transformation of reflection about the y-axis. The reason behind this is that out of other transformation process, we can only achieve the image of triangle ∆A’B’C’ through reflection.

Dilation will not work since it only changes the size of the object. The shape and position will not affected.

A translation will not work because although the shape can move, it still needs to flip to achieve triangle ∆A’B’C’.

A rotation will also not work because when you rotate it, the shape will still not map over the new one.

Therefore the only answer to this question would be to reflect triangle ∆ABC about the y-axis.

(a)Chau runs 10 miles in 65 minutes. How many minutes does he take per mile? (b)Diane bought 16 pounds of rice for $9 . How many
ExtremeBDS [4]
(a)
10 miles ーー> 65 minutes
1 mile ーー> 65 minutes ÷ 10 = 6.5 minutes

∴ Chau takes 6.5 minutes to run 1 mile.

(b)
16 pound ーー> $9
1 pound ーー> $9 ÷ 16 = $0.5625

∴ Diane paid $0.5625 per pound of rice.

What statements must be true of an equation before you can use quadratic formula?
Alexus [3.1K]
Before you use the quadratic formula, you have to make sure the equation itself is a quadratic and that a and b are not 0.
