 ok so this is super simple! we take 16-8=8, so we cant use a positive number because we're adding in this situation so we add a negative number ( -8 + 16 = 8) so our solution R = -8

Answer:

  37°

Step-by-step explanation:

The diagonals of a rhombus are angle bisectors. Angle 1 matches the other half of angle L.

  ∠1 = 37°

__

Angle 2 is the complement, 53°, and angle 3 is the same as angle 2, 53°.

The diagonals of a rhombus are perpendicular bisectors of each other, so angle 4 is 90°.

What is the percent decrease from 60 to 39?
IrinaK [193]
X - the percent decrease

60-60x=39 \ \ \ |-60 \\
-60x=-21 \ \ \ |\div (-60) \\
x=\frac{-21}{-60} \\ \Downarrow \\ x=\frac{-21}{-60}=\frac{-21 \div (-3)}{-60 \div (-3)}=\frac{7}{20}=\frac{7 \times 5}{20 \times 5}=\frac{35}{100}=35\%

It's a 35% decrease.

A balloon flying at 3000 feet above the ocean measures the angles of depression of each end of an island directly in front of th
saul85 [17]
The length of the island will be given as follows:
tan θ=opposite/adjacent
thus:
tan75.8= 3000/a1
a1=3000tan75.8
a1=11855.885 ft

also:
tan15.6=3000/a2
a2=3000tan15.6
a2=837.62 ft
Thus the length of the island will be:
11855.885-837.615
=11,018.24 ft

What is the solution of x + y = 2 and 2x + 5y = 16?
elena55 [62]
Multiply the first equation by two to get 2x + 2y = 4.
Subtract the second equation from the first equation to get -3y = -12

y = 4.

Plug y back in to get x = -2.
