Answer:

A) 0.20

B) 0.06

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question above we have the following information;

30% of the residents of a particular town read the morning paper

Probability (of the residents that read morning paper) = 0.3

25% read the afternoon paper

Probability (of the residents that read afternoon paper) = 0.25

10% read both

Probability (of the residents that read both) = 0.10

A. One resident is randomly selected. What is the probability that this person reads only the morning paper?

Probability( that this person reads only the morning paper) = Probability (of the residents that read morning paper) - Probability (of the residents that read both)

= 0.30 - 0.10

= 0.20

B. Given that a random resident reads the morning paper, what is the probability that this resident also reads the afternoon paper?

Probability( that this resident also reads the afternoon paper) = Probability (of the residents that read morning paper) × Probability (of the residents that read afternoon paper)

= 0.30 × 0.20

= 0.06

In ΔABC, m∠ACB = 90°, CD ⊥ AB and m∠ACD = 45°. Find: AC, if CD = 6√2 in.
klio [65]

Answer:

AC = 12 units.

Step-by-step explanation:

Δ ACD is right-angled. ( as CD ⊥ AB).

cos 45° = CD / AC = 6√2 / AC

AC = 6√2 / cos 45°

AC = 6√2 / 1 /√2

= 6√2 *√2

= 6 * 2

= 12   (answer)
