Answer:

The sum of the measures of each pair of vertical angles is equal

to the sum of the measures of the intercepted arcs

Step-by-step explanation:

* Lets study this rule :Angles of Intersecting Chords Theorem.

- If two chords intersect inside a circle, then the measure of the

 angle formed is one half the sum of the measure of the arcs

 intercepted by the angle and its vertical angle.

Ex: Look to the attached figure:

- QS and PR are 2 chords intersect each other inside the circle

- ∠1 subtended by arc PQ , ∠3 subtended by the arc RS

- ∠2 subtended by arc RQ , ∠4 subtended by the arc PS

∴ m∠1 = [measure of arc PQ + measure of arc RS]/2

∴ m∠2 = [measure of arc QR + measure of arc PS]/2

∴ 2m∠1 = measure of arc PQ + measure of arc RS

∴ 2m∠2 = measure of arc QR + measure of arc PS

∵ m∠1 = m∠3 ⇒ vertically opposite angles

∵ m∠2 = m∠4 ⇒ vertically opposite angles

∴ m∠1 + m∠3 = 2m∠1

∴ m∠2 + m∠4 = 2m∠2

∴ m∠1 + m∠3 = measure of arc PQ + measure of arc RS

∴ m∠2 + m∠4 = measure of arc QR + measure of arc PS

* From all above

- The sum of the measures of each pair of vertical angles is equal

 to the sum of the measures of the intercepted arcs

What is the slope of y=4x+5 (show work)
Mandarinka [93]
The slope is 4. It's right there in the problem. The equation underneath that is y=mx + b. M, in this case 4 or 4/1 is the slope. And 5 is the y intercept or where the line crosses the y axis.

It is reported that 25% of the flights arriving at the Washington Dulles airport in January 2008 were late. Assume the populatio
lawyer [7]

Answer:

P(0.22

Step-by-step explanation:

Previous concepts

A confidence interval is "a range of values that’s likely to include a population value with a certain degree of confidence. It is often expressed a % whereby a population means lies between an upper and lower interval".

The margin of error is the range of values below and above the sample statistic in a confidence interval.

Normal distribution, is a "probability distribution that is symmetric about the mean, showing that data near the mean are more frequent in occurrence than data far from the mean".

The population proportion have the following distribution

p \sim N(p,\sqrt{\frac{p(1-p)}{n}})

For this case the standard error is given by:

SE =\sqrt{\frac{p(1-p)}{n}} =\sqrt{\frac{0.25(1-0.25)}{625}}=0.0173

Solution to the problem

For this case we want to find the probability that the sample proportion will be within +-.03 of the population proportion like this:

P(0.25-0.03 < p< 0.25+0.03) =P (0.22

And for this case we can use the following z score:

z = \frac{\hat p - p}{SE_{p}}

And using this formula we got:

P(0.22

And we can find this probability like this:

P(-1.732

A man is painting a building that is 20 meters high. He leans able 12 meter ladder against the building. The ladder is 5 meters
telo118 [61]

Answer:

The approximate height of man if he is standing on the top of leaning ladder will be 13 m.

Step-by-step explanation:

Distance from bottom of building to the point where ladder touches the wall = p

Length of the ladder = h = 12 m

Distance of ladder from the bottom of the building = b = 5 m

\cos \theta =\frac{b}{h}=\frac{5 m}{12 m}

\theta =65.38^o

\sin \theta=\frac{p}{h}=\frac{p}{12 m}

p=12 m\times \sin (65.38^o)=12m\times 0.9090=10.908 m

Height of the man ,x= 1.87 m

Height of man if he is standing on the top of leaning ladder = p+ x

=10.908 m+ 1.87 m = 12.778 m ≈ 13 m
