The answer is 22. If one cupcake left over and the bakery packages only even numbers of cupcakes in a package, then the answer shouldn't be even number.

The answer is 22 cupcakes.

I just subtracted 8 out of all the answer choices until I was left with 1 (the leftover cupcake). 22-8-8=6 and you can't subtract 8 out of 6 and get 1 so it can't be the number of cupcakes baked on that day
