The ideas of liberty that were emerging during the Enlightenment were, by definition, threatening to social classes. This is because liberty and individual rights came hand in hand. Freedom prioritized the individual against the community. Moreover, the defense of freedom generally came together with the defense of equality. The more equality people enjoyed, the less differences we could find between social classes, which represented a threat to the upper classes and increased tensions between these different groups.

The ideas leveled up not only on their rights and privileges as a citizen. The ideology was understood as a national concern. Through a basic understanding of their own rights, the realization of the issue was associated as a concern of all as a nation that strives to have a decent living. They saw the connection between social classes concern is related. Thus, the ideas of liberty awakened nationalism among the American colonies.

Socrates. You think your teacher is tough when he or she asks a question? Socrates almost never gave a straight answer. A question was always followed by another question. He's fun to read about, but I'll bet his students didn't always like it.

Identify new cultural movements of the 1920s and analyze how these movements reflected and changed society.
JulijaS [17]

Answer:

During the 1920s there was a lot of new and exciting things happening. There was more freedom for youth and females with the flappers and youth culture. Females worked, wore makeup, danced in jazz clubs, lived on their own, smoked, and dressed more provocatively. Youth played sports, participated in extracurricular activities, joined sororities and frats, went to dances and parties, and experimented with dating and sexuality. There was many advances in technology, innovations, and inventions for example, radio, sports, movies with sound, automobiles, electricity, vacuum cleaners, irons, washing machines, refrigerators, indoor plumbing, and assembly lines. Radio, sports, and movies with sound gave people new sources of entertainment. Appliances like vacuum cleaners, irons, washing machines, and refrigerators helped housewives. Electricity and assembly lines helped factories to make more products in less time.  There was an increase in productivity, consumerism, life expectancy, income, city population, and funding. After the war, foreign governments owed the U.S. billions of dollars. There was more funding for hospitals, medical research, libraries, and schools. The average income rose by 11%, people had more money to buy consumer goods and to move from country to city. It wasn't all sunshine and rainbows though. Many people had negative reactions to these changes, especially people in small. rural towns, white protestants, and christian fundamentalists. There was a rebirth of the Ku Klux Klan, who discriminated against catholics, jews, immigrants, and POC. There was an alcohol prohibition, which lead to an intended 30% drop in alcohol consumption but, an unintended increase in organized crime rates.
