For friends and family. I would sit them down gently. Tell them how you feel. Explain what it means. I know it’s going to be hard but once your out it’ll feel as if a weight has been lifted from your shoulders. It will be so worth it. Not everyone is going to understand it and they don’t matter. No one else’s opinion should matter but yours. At the end of the day, it’s your body, your life, you can do what ever makes you happy and if someone’s tries to take that away from you then get away from them as they do not deserve you. If they love you they’ll understand and not question you.
