Hello,

Number of solutions=3

x³-2x²-5x+6=x³-x²-x²+x-6x+6=x²(x-1)-x(x-1)-6(x-1)=(x-1)(x²-x-6)
=(x-1)(x²-3x+2x-6)=(x-1)(x(x-3)+2(x-3))
=(x-1)(x-3)(x+2)
Sol={1,3,-2}

Write a polynomial in standard form that represents the area of the shaded region.
Paladinen [302]

Answer:

Area of the smaller square is x * x, which is x^2

Area of the larger square is (x + 7)(x + 7), which is x^2 + 14x + 49

The area of the shaded area = Area of the larger square - Area of the smaller square

Area of the shaded region = x^2 + 14x + 49 - x^2

Area of the shaded region is 14x + 49.

How do you solve with all the steps?<br> |-2(x+2)|=1
Tanya [424]

Answer:

x = - 5/2 or x = - 3/2

Step-by-step explanation:

|-2(x+2|=1

|-2x-4|=1

- 2x - 4 = 1 or - 2x - 4 = - 1

- 2x - 4 = 1

- 2x = 4+1

x = - 5/2

or -2x - 4 = - 1

-2x = 4 - 1

x = - 3/2

What’s the equation for the order pairs (1,-5) and (-2,5)
liq [111]

\bf (\stackrel{x_1}{1}~,~\stackrel{y_1}{-5})\qquad&#10;(\stackrel{x_2}{-2}~,~\stackrel{y_2}{5})&#10;\\\\\\&#10;slope = m\implies&#10;\cfrac{\stackrel{rise}{ y_2- y_1}}{\stackrel{run}{ x_2- x_1}}\implies \cfrac{5-(-5)}{-2-1}\implies \cfrac{5+5}{-2-1}\implies \cfrac{10}{-3}

\bf \begin{array}{|c|ll}&#10;\cline{1-1}&#10;\textit{point-slope form}\\&#10;\cline{1-1}&#10;\\&#10;y-y_1=m(x-x_1)&#10;\\\\&#10;\cline{1-1}&#10;\end{array}\implies y-(-5)=-\cfrac{10}{3}(x-1)\implies y+5=-\cfrac{10}{3}x+\cfrac{10}{3}&#10;\\\\\\&#10;y=-\cfrac{10}{3}x+\cfrac{10}{3}-5\implies y=-\cfrac{10}{3}x-\cfrac{5}{3}

during one month the orangevale parks and recreation district spent $5720 for various activities. they spent $1430 on mommy and
AysviL [449]

To solve this problem, we must figure out what percent of the total spending was spent on mommy and baby exercise programs. To figure this out, we should divide how much was spent on the mommy and baby exercise by the total amount spent on the district activities.

$1430/$5720 = 0.25

This is a percentage, or a portion out of 100, which means we must multiply this decimal by 100 to find its equivalent percentage.

0.25 * 100 = 25

Therefore, your answer is 25% of the total spending was spent on mommy and baby exercise programs.

Hope this helps!
