If you were to draw a punnet square of two individuals with the genotypes Ss, there would be 1 box with ss, 2 boxes with Ss, and 1 box with SS.

The possible genotypes are SS, Ss, and ss.

The possible phenotypes are sufferers of sickle cell (ss) and non-sufferers (Ss and SS)

Explanation on Mitosis
Kipish [7]
Mitosis is the division that results in two “daughter” cells. Both of these daughter cells have the same number of chromosomes as the “parent” cell.
Mitosis consists of 4 phases: prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase.
Prophase: the DNA is copied and the chromosomes pair up
Metaphase: the chromosomes line up in the middle of the cell
Anaphase: sister chromatids are pulled apart from each other towards opposite sides of the cell
Telophase: the cell begins to pinch in the middle and separates into two identical daughter cells

Beginning with a cell that just fertilized ( 1 cell ) how many times must it divide to become a 64 cell blastomere ?
natka813 [3]

A cell that just fertilized has to divide 6 times to form a 64 cell blastomere.

Explanation:

Human reproduction begins with the fusion of male gamete sperm and female gamete ovum. The fusion of sperm and ovum forms the zygote that is diploid. The zygote then undergoes mitotic division to develop into embryo.

The zygote first divides into two and the two individual cells divide again to form four individual cells and so on. Thus the number of cells after each division can be represented by the equation 2^n where n is the number of divisions. in the question it is given that the blastomere has 64 cells.

2^n=64

n=6

This means that the fertilized cell has to divide 6 times to develop into 64-celled blastomere.

Question is incomplete i have added full question in ask for detail section as well as in picture format with answer. See figure for clear explanation.

Answer:

(Twisted leaves)

The mutant allele is dominant to its corresponding wild-type allele

(Forked leaves)

The mutant allele is dominant to its corresponding wild-type allele

(pale leaves)

The mutant allele is neither dominant nor completely recessive to its corresponding wild-type allele
