For an endothermic reaction, how will the value for Keq change when the temperature is increased?

Keq will increase.

It is a reaction quotient when the reaction reached equilibrium. If Keq is greater than 1, the mixture contains mostly the products. On the other hand, if Keq is less than 1, the mixture contains the reactants. If the reaction a endothermic and the temperature is increased, then the equilibrium will favor the forward reaction or the formation of more products. Therefore, the Keq will increase.

When both –NH2 and –COOH replace hydrogen atoms on the same carbon atom, a(n) ____ is formed. a. amine c. carboxylic acid b. ami
Mice21 [21]

-NH_{2} represents amine functional group and COOH represents carboxylic acid functional group. When these both functional groups are substituted onto a single carbon atom, then amino acid is formed.

The organic compound consists of -NH_{2} functional group and COOH functional group with a side chain is said to be an amino acid.

A: amine group is -NH_{2}.

C: carboxylic acid  group is COOH

B: amino acid represents -NH_{2} functional group and COOH functional group which are substituted onto a single carbon atom.

D: carbohydrate:  the general formula of carbohydrate is (CH_{2} O)_{x}.

Hence, amino acid is the correct answer.

(REALLY NEED HELP 30 POINTS )If the mass of a material is 12 grams and the volume of the material is 49 cm^3, what would the den
VARVARA [1.3K]

The answer is 0.25 g/cm3

The equation for finding density is mass divided by volume.

Therefore,

         12 grams/ 49 cm3= 0.24489795918367 gram/cubic centimeter

you would then round this to the nearest significant figure which is the number of significant numbers you have and the highest amount of sig figs present in this equation is two sig figs. That means that you would round your answer, becasue it has a zero before the decimal which doesn't count as a significant figure, to the nearest hundredth which would be 0.25 and then you add your value after it which is g/cm3

A bottle in lab is labeled [CoCl2.6H2O] = 0.71 M in 9.217 M HCl. If you determine [CoCl42-] to be 0.361 M at a particular temper
77julia77 [94]

Answer:

[Co(H₂O)₆]²⁺ = 0.361 M

Explanation:

[CoCl₂ . 6H₂O] + 2Cl⁻ → [CoCl₄]²⁻ + 6H₂O

[Co(H₂O)₆]²⁺ + 4Cl⁻ → [CoCl₄]²⁻ + 6H₂O

[CoCl₄]²⁻ = 0.361 M ∴ [Co(H₂O)₆]²⁺ = 0.361 M

The equation shows that the concentration of [Co(H₂O)₆]²⁺ should be equal to the concentration of [CoCl₄]²⁻.

what is the empirical formula of vanadium 1 oxide given that 20.38 grams of vandium combines with oxygen to form 23.58 grams of
Alex

Answer:

The empirical formula is V₂O

Empirical formula of a compound is the formula that shows the simplest whole number ratio of the atoms of elements in a given compound. Empirical formula is normally calculated when the mass of each element in a compound is known or the percentage composition by mass of each element in a compound is known.

Step by Step Explanation:

Step 1: Percentage composition of each element

Percentage composition=(mass of an element/ mass of the compound)100%

Mass of Vanadium = 20.38 g

Mass of the compound = 23.58 g

% composition of Vanadium = (20.38 g/23.58 g) 100%

                                                 = 86.43 %

Mass of Oxygen = 23.58 g -20.38 g

                           = 3.2 g

% composition of oxygen = (3.2/g/23.58 g) 100%

                                          =  13.57%

Step 2: Find the number of atoms of each element in the compound

Number of atoms  = percentage composition/ atomic mass

Atomic mass of Vanadium = 50.94 g/mol

Number of atoms of V = 86.43 /50.94

                                  = 1.6967

Atomic mass of oxygen = 16 g/mol

Number of atoms of O = 13.57/16

                                      = 0.8481

Step 3:  Find the simplest ratio of atoms

Vanadium : Oxygen

            1.6967 : 0.8481

= 1.6967/0.8481 : 0.8481/0.8481

= 2: 1

Whole number ratio = 2 : 1

Therefore; the empirical formula is V₂O
