What does it mean to be a gifted student?

I don't think it means anything bad. A gifted student is a student that does really well in certain classes. Say you do really good in art, you're a gifted art student. OR your really amazing in every class you have; you get all A's, you're gifted. I'm pretty sure that's what it means
