Change it to 256x49
Then an easy way to do this is
256 x 100 = 25600
25600/2 = 12800 (this is the same as times 50)
Then - 256 because you only need times 49
So 12800- 256 = 12544

Then you moved the decimal place 3 times to the right in the first equation so move it back 3 times to the left

Son the answer is 12.544

Thomas got a flat tire and had to walk 1/4 mile to the nearest gas station. How many feet did Thomas walk?
dusya [7]

Answer:

1320\ \text{feet}

Step-by-step explanation:

The distance Thomas walked to the nearest gas station is \dfrac{1}{4}\ \text{mile}.

The conversion factor for miles to feet is

1\ \text{mile}=5280\ \text{feet}

So

\dfrac{1}{4}\ \text{mile}=\dfrac{1}{4}\times 5280

=1320\ \text{feet}

Hence, Thomas had to walk 1320\ \text{feet} to get to the nearest gas station.
