Answer:

The actual area of the base of the building is 4418 ft²

Explanation:

1- Getting the actual dimensions of the building:

We are given that the model used is:

1 in corresponding to 47 ft

Now, we get the actual dimensions:

a. The width of the model base is 1 in which means 47 ft

b. The length of the model base is 2 in which means 2*47 = 94 in

2- Getting the area of the base of the building:

Area of the rectangle is the product of its length and width

We have calculated from part 1:

length of base of building is 94 in

width of base of building is 47 in

This means that:

Area of base of building = 47 * 94 = 4418 ft²

Hope this helps :)

Can you help me with this question.
HACTEHA [7]

For the scale factor, use the dimensions from similar sides:

Using 18 from the original image you would use 6 from the scaled image.

18 /6 = 3

This means the scaled image is 3 times smaller than the original. Because the scaled image is smaller divide 1 by the scale factor to get 1/3.

Q2:

The scale factor is 1 inch = 12 miles.

Multiply the total inches by 12:

6.5 x 12 = 78 miles.
