Answer:

C. The security of the united states depends upon only us having them.

Explanation:

Nuclear proliferation is the spread of nuclear weapons and technology among nations not known under 'non proliferation treaty'. They are weapon of mass destruction which are also acquired or developed illegally by armed groups or terrorist.

Non proliferation treaty is an international agreement, endorsed by over 60 countries including the United States, whose aim is to prevent the continuous speed of nuclear weapons and technology, reduction or destruction of already piled nuclear weapons, while aiming to promote peaceful coexistence among member nations in the use of nuclear energy for human development.

There have been growing concerns among member countries particularly the United States on the countries developing nuclear weapons illegally. Illegally in the scenes that these countries are not recognized as nuclear weapon states and under the 'non proliferation treaty'.

While member countries developed nuclear weapon for defence against external aggression, advancement on medical research and generation of power/energy, non member countries have been posing as security threat by developing them illegally.

It is therefore a concern to the United states because the security of the United States depends upon only us having them.
