The main property is as follow
(A^p)^q=A^pxq
so only Sam's work is correct because

-2/7 - (-4/3) -1/3 what is the answer
seraphim [82]
You have to first make like terms

-\frac{2}{7} -(-  \frac{4}{3})-  \frac{1}{3}

**you want the denominator to be 21

\frac{-6+28-7}{21} =  \frac{15}{21}= \frac{5}{7}

Write an equation of the line that passes through point p and is perpendicular to the line with the given equation
goldenfox [79]
Do you have the specific point??

Remember, if 2 lines are perpendicular, their slopes are opposite reciprocals. So if one line has a slope of 4, the other line should have a slope of -1/4.

Hopefully your equation is in y=mx+b form. If so,

make sure you know slope (m) and the y-intercept. After this is done, plug in the points from p for y and x, and make sure to turn m into -1/m. Solve for b, and your new equation should be y=(new slope)x+(new y-intercept)

Given the following sequence, find the 23rd term: 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, . . .
sashaice [31]

Answer:

B. 47

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula for an arithmetic sequence is

an = a1+d(n-1)

a1 =3 (it is the first term)

We can find the common difference by taking the second term and subtracting the first term

5-3 =2

d=2

n = the term number we are looking for

an = 3 + 2(n-1)

We are looking for the 23rd term so n=23

a23 = 3 +2(23-1)

      = 3 +2(22)

      = 3+44

      = 47
