1.06 is less because in the tenths place obviously, 6 is greater then 0 so 1.6 would be greater. It is incorrect because in the tenths place again, 7 is greater than 1 so there u go.

1.06 is less than 1.60 because If you were to multiply both numbers by 100 you would get 106 and 160. If you do the same with 0.167 and 0.75 you would get 16.7 and 75. Now, which one is bigger? You are simply shifting the decimal points 2 places to the right for each number then comparing their values.
