Answer:

Any graph with the same slope but with different y intercepts is parallel to that. For example in y = mx + b form the equation will be

y = 4x - 15

So, some equations that will be parallel

y = 4x

y = 4x - 16

y = 4x +3

Use this equation: y=4x+b and bc you're trying to find the equation of another line, pick an ordered pair (it doesn't matter what it is) and plug it into x and y to solve for b (the y-intercept) in order to fulfill y=mx+b

I'm using (2,3):

3=4(2)+b

3=8+b

-5=b

Now you have b, plug it back into y=4x+b (omit the coordinates you put in) and you'll get:

y=4x-5 as your answer
