x² + 3x - 2x - 6 = 0

(x - 2)(x + 3) = 0

x = 2 or -3

x+7=(x+1)^2
Then use FOIL to solve the right side since it is really (x+1)(x+1)
x+7=x^2+2x+2
Then set it equal to 0
0=x^2+x-5
Factor
(x+3)(x-2)
Set each answer equal to 0
x+3=0
x-2=0
Solve for x
So your answers are x=-3 and x=2
