We know that one foot = 12 inches. We will use this as our conversion factor but written it a little differently. We can write it as 1ft / 12 in or 12in / 1ft

We can setup our problem using the conversion factor like the following:

$24\ in \times \frac{1\ ft}{12\ in}$

Now cross out the in and multiply.

$24\ in \times \frac{1\ ft}{12\ in}$

$24 \times \frac{1\ ft}{12}$

$24 \times \frac{1\ ft}{12} = \frac{24\ ft}{12} = 2ft$

So 24 inches = 2 feet
