Georgianna claims that in a small city renowned for its music school, the average child takes at least 5 years of piano lessons.

We have a random sample of 20 children from the city, with a mean of 4.6 years of piano lessons and a standard deviation of 2.2 years. Required:Explicitly state and check all conditions necessary for inference on these data.

Answer:

The  condition  are

           The  Null hypothesis is  H_o  :  \mu = 5

           The  Alternative hypothesis is  H_a  :  \mu <  5

The  check revealed that

             There is sufficient evidence to support the claim that in a small city renowned for its music school, the average child takes at least 5 years of piano lessons

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question we are told that

     The  population mean is  \mu =  5 \ year

      The sample size is  n =  20

      The sample mean is  \=  x  =  4.6 \  years

       The  standard deviation is \sigma  =  2.2  \ years

   The  Null hypothesis is  H_o  :  \mu = 5

   The  Alternative hypothesis is  H_a  :  \mu <  5

So i will be making use of  \alpha = 0.05 level of significance to test this claim

    The critical value of  \alpha from the normal distribution table is  Z_\alpha = 1.645

Generally the test statistics is mathematically evaluated as

                 t =  \frac{\= x  - \mu}{ \frac{\sigma }{\sqrt{n} } }

substituting values

                 t =  \frac{ 4.6  - 5}{ \frac{2.2}{\sqrt{20} } }

                t =  -0.8131

Looking at the value of  t and Z_{\alpha } we see that  t < Z_{\alpha } so we fail to reject the null hypothesis

  This implies that there is sufficient evidence to support the claim that in a small city renowned for its music school, the average child takes at least 5 years of piano lessons.

The radius of a semicircle is 1 kilometer. what is the semicircle's perimeter? use 3.14 for pie.
Aleksandr-060686 [28]

Answer:

5.14 km

Step-by-step explanation:

A semicircle is 1/2 of a circle so the perimeter is just 1/2 of the circumference

C = 2 * pi r for a circle so for a semicircle

1/2* 2* pi *r

pi*r

3.14 * 1

3.14

If we want to include the piece that closes the semicircle, we need to add the diameter

d = 2r = 2(1) = 2

2+3.14 = 5.14

Find the mode of 7 , 3 , 2 , 5 , 0. Single choice.<br><br><br>2<br><br>0<br><br>No mode
frez [133]

Answer:

No mode

Step-by-step explanation:

The mode is the statistical method in which the most repetitive number should be considered

Like if we take an example

1,1, 2, 2, 2, 4, 4,4,4

So here the mode is 4 as 4 is repeated 4 times

But in the given situation there is no mode as every number is written single time

Identify two values that have a value less than 3 what is the answer to this question?
Digiron [165]

Answer:

the answer is 2.9 x 10^0 and 3.2 x 10^-2

Step-by-step explanation:

10^0 is equal to 1 so 2.9 x 10^0 is really 2.9 times 1 which is less than 3

if i could get brainliest answer that would be great!

10^-2 is a exponential that makes a number go down so 3.2 going down is less than 3
