In the question it is already given that 4 items are being purchased and their individual rates are also given. the percentage of tax that needs to be paid is also given. To find the total amount of tax that has to be paid, you can either calculate the taxes on individual items and then add them or you can add the total amount required for the 4 items and then calculate the tax. Both will yield the same result but the second process is easier.
Cost of all the 4 items purchased = (2.50 + 8.75 + 3.00 + 10.25)
                                                       = 24.50
Percentage of tax that needs to be paid = 6%
Amount of tax that needs to be paid = (6/100) * 24.50
                                                           = 147/100
                                                           = 1.47
So the amount of tax that needs to be paid is 1.47.

Bess [88]

Answer:

$109 and 35%

Step-by-step explanation:

49.05 is the sale price and the discount is 55%. What’s the original price?

price/ 1- discount

49.05/ 1 - 0.55

49.05/ 0.45

109

for the other part

to find the discount subtract final price from original price

94 - 61.10 = 32.9

Which would be 35% in percent form.

Evaluate the series
dalvyx [7]

Answer:

the value of the series;

\sum_{k=1}^{6}(25-k^2) = 59

C) 59

Step-by-step explanation:

Recall that;

\sum_{1}^{n}a_n = a_1+a_2+...+a_n\\

Therefore, we can evaluate the series;

\sum_{k=1}^{6}(25-k^2)

by summing the values of the series within that interval.

the values of the series are evaluated by substituting the corresponding values of k into the equation.

\sum_{k=1}^{6}(25-k^2) =(25-1^2)+(25-2^2)+(25-3^2)+(25-4^2)+(25-5^2)+(25-6^2)\\\sum_{k=1}^{6}(25-k^2) =(25-1)+(25-4)+(25-9)+(25-16)+(25-25)+(25-36)\\\sum_{k=1}^{6}(25-k^2) =24+21+16+9+0+(-11)\\\sum_{k=1}^{6}(25-k^2) = 59\\

So, the value of the series;

\sum_{k=1}^{6}(25-k^2) = 59
