The finding is related to Interference theory. This theory is about human memory. Interference can take place in learning when there is an interaction of the new material and transfer effects of learned behavior in the past. In 1924, James Jenkins and Karl Dallenbach showed in their experiment that experiences gained everyday can interfere with memory.
