Social media platforms are encouraging people to share more about their private lives. It's easy to post a status update, a photo, an event with the click of a button. However, this can lead to a feeling of anxiety called FOMO, or fear of missing out. FOMO is a persistent sense that people do things without you. Also, people tend to over share because they use social media as a diary in a sense of writing about everything they feel. This is called ranting, people feel like when they share the stress it goes away like when talking about it.

I believe the information that should stay private are the hardships and times that one may go through. This is because over sharing this information can result in others trying to get back at you or give you a negative response. I also believe that obviously personal informations such as; your address, phones number, and so one should stay private.
