The answer is 25 blue beads.

SOLUTION:
Firstly, we know that the ratio of blue to white beads is 5:1. We now know that one in every 6 beads is white.

When we divide 30 by 6, you will get 5 white beads. Because there are 5 times as many blue beads, we times 5 by 5 to get 25 blue bead

Hope this helps!

4x-2y=12
-4x-9=54

How can you order a ladder?
blagie [28]
Equations:

4x - 2y = 12
-4x - 9y = 54

Multiple them in both sides

4x - 2y - 4x - 9y = 12 + 54
-2y - 9y = 66
-11y = 66
y= -6

If y= -6 then put y in first or second equation.

I put it in first equation

4x - 2.(-6) = 12
4x + 12 = 12
x= 0

Therefore

(x,y) = (0, -6)

Two of the most popular options on a certain type of new car are automatic transmission and built-in GPS. Suppose that 90% of al
padilas [110]

Answer:

0.95 = 95% probability that the next person to purchase this car will request at least one of automatic transmission or built-in GPS

Step-by-step explanation:

We solve this question treating these probabilities as Venn sets.

I am going to say that:

Event A: Requesting automatic transmission

Event B: Requesting built-in GPS

90% of all buyers request automatic transmission

This means that P(A) = 0.9

82% of all buyers request built-in GPS

This means that P(B) = 0.82

77% of all buyers request both automatic transmission and built-in GPS.

This means that P(A \cap B) = 0.77

What is the probability that the next person to purchase this car will request at least one of automatic transmission or built-in GPS

This is P(A \cup B), which is given by:

P(A \cup B) = P(A) + P(B) - P(A \cap B)

So

P(A \cup B) = 0.9 + 0.82 - 0.77 = 0.95

0.95 = 95% probability that the next person to purchase this car will request at least one of automatic transmission or built-in GPS

Determine two pairs of polar coordinates for the point (5, 5) with 0° ≤ θ < 360°.
inna [77]

Answer:

First part

The answer is (5 square root 2, 45°), (-5 square root 2, 225°) ⇒ answer (d)

Second part

The equation in standard form for the hyperbola is y²/81 - x²/19 = 1 ⇒ answer(b)

Step-by-step explanation:

First part:

* Lets study the Polar form and the Cartesian form

- The important difference between Cartesian coordinates and

  polar coordinates:

# In Cartesian coordinates there is exactly one set of coordinates

  for any given point.

# In polar coordinates there is an infinite number of coordinates

   for a given point. For instance, the following four points are all

   coordinates for the same point.

# In the polar the coordinates the origin is called the pole, and

  the x axis is called the polar axis.

# The angle measurement θ can be expressed in radians

   or degrees.

- To convert from Cartesian Coordinates (x , y) to

  Polar Coordinates (r , θ)

# r = ± √(x² + y²)

# θ = tan^-1 (y / x)

* Lets solve the problem

- The point in the Cartesian coordinates is (5 , 5)

∵ x = 5 and y = 5

∴ r = ± √(5² + 5²) = ± √50 = ± 5√2

∴ tanФ = (5/5) = 1

∵ tanФ is positive

∴ Angle Ф could be in the first or third quadrant

∵ Ф = tan^-1 (1) = 45°

∴ Ф in the first quadrant is 45°

∴ Ф in the third quadrant is 180 + 45 = 225°

* The answer is (5√2 , 45°) , (-5√2 , 225°)

Second part:

* Lets study the standard form of the hyperbola equation

- The standard form of the equation of a hyperbola with

  center (0 , 0) and transverse axis parallel to the y-axis is

  y²/a² - x²/b² = 1, where

• the length of the transverse axis is 2a

• the coordinates of the vertices are (0 , ±a)

• the length of the conjugate axis is 2b

• the coordinates of the co-vertices are (±b , 0)

•      the coordinates of the foci are (0 , ± c),

• the distance between the foci is 2c, where c² = a² + b²

* Lets solve our problem

∵ The vertices are (0 , 9) and (0 , -9)

∴ a = ± 9 ⇒ a² = 81

∵ The foci at (0 , 10) , (0 , -10)

∴ c = ± 10

∵ c² = a² + b²

∴ (10)² = (9)² + b² ⇒ 100 = 81 + b² ⇒ subtract 81 from both sides

∴ b² = 19

∵ The equation is  y²/a² - x²/b² = 1

∴  y²/81 - x²/19 = 1

* The equation in standard form for the hyperbola is y²/81 - x²/19 = 1

Log₂(6x) - log₂(√x) = 2

log₂[6x/√x] = 2, let's rewrite it in terms of exponent:

(remember : ㏒₂(x) = a  (in exponential form) → x = 2ᵃ

6x/√x = 2²

6x/√x = 4, square both sides:
36x²/x = 16 .Simplify:

36x = 16 and x = 16/36 . So x = 4/9
