<h2>Answer: 6 gallons </h2>

First we are told that we initially had 1/3 of the tank and when 10 gallons were added we had 3/4 of the tank:

\frac{1}{3}+10gallons=\frac{3}{4}    (1)

10gallons=\frac{3}{4}-\frac{1}{3}   (2)

1gallon=\frac{1}{24}    (3)

This means 1 gallon is equivalent to 1/24 tank.

On the other hand if we have 3/4 of a tank and need to reach 1 tank we have to add another fraction of the tank:

\frac{3}{4}+X=1   (4)

X=\frac{1}{4}   (5)>>>>This is the fraction needed to complete 1 tank

Now we need to know <u>how much that 1/4 tank is equivalent in gallons</u>.

From (3) we know 1gallon=\frac{1}{24} . So, we can write the following relation to transform from fractions of a tank to gallons:

\frac{1}{4}.\frac{1gallon}{\frac{1}{24}}=(\frac{1gallon}{4})(\frac{24}{1})

\frac{24}{4}gallons=6gallons

Therefore:

<h2>6 more gallons are needed to fill the tank</h2>

Answer:

(0,1) and (-2,9)

Step-by-step explanation:

A point (x,y) lies on the graph of f(x) = (\frac{1}{3} )^{x} if it satisfies the condition y = (\frac{1}{3} )^{x}

<h3>(0,1):</h3>

        x = 0 and y = 1.

This point satisfies the required condition as

        (\frac{1}{3} )^{0} = 1

Hence, this point <u>is</u> on the graph of f(x) = (\frac{1}{3} )^{x}

<h3>(3,27):</h3>

        x = 3 and y = 27.

This point doesn't satisfy the required condition as

        (\frac{1}{3} )^{3} = \frac{1}{27} ≠ 27

Hence, this point i<u>s not</u> on the graph of f(x) = (\frac{1}{3} )^{x}

<h3>(-2,9):</h3>

        x = -2 and y = 9.

This point satisfies the required condition as

        (\frac{1}{3} )^{-2} = 3^{2} = 9

Hence, this point <u>is</u> on the graph of f(x) = (\frac{1}{3} )^{x}

<h3>(-1,-\frac{1}{3}):</h3>

        x = -1 and y = -\frac{1}{3}.

This point satisfies the required condition as

        y = (\frac{1}{3} )^{-1} = 3^{1} = 3 ≠ -\frac{1}{3}

Hence, this point <u>is not</u> on the graph of f(x) = (\frac{1}{3} )^{x}

2. The amount of an ordinary $9000.00 annuity for 3 years at 12 percent compounded quarterly is _______? Show work.
larisa [96]

Answer:

The amount after three years is $12831.8

Step-by-step explanation:

* Lets revise the compound interest

- The formula for compound interest is  A = P (1 + r/n)^(nt)

 Where:

# A = the value of the investment with interest

# P = the initial investment amount

# r = the annual interest rate (decimal)

# n = the number of times that interest is compounded per unit t

# t = the time the money is invested

* Now lets solve the problem

∵ The initial amount is $9000

∴ P = $9000

∵ The rate is 12%

∴ r = 12/100 = 0.12

∵ The interest is compound quarterly

∴ n = 4

∵ The money invested for 3 years

∴ t = 3

∵ A = P (1 + r/n)^(nt)

∴ A = 9000(1 + 0.12/4)^(4×3)

∴ A = 9000(1 + 0.03)^12

∴ A = 9000(1.03)^12 = $12831.8

If one endpoint is (-6,4) and the midpoint is (4,8) what would be the other endpoint ???? if you can explain it would be great
krek1111 [17]
I believe the next one would be 13.2 because if you add 8.4 to -6.4 it gets 4.8 so you just do the same thing
