<u>Answer-</u>

<em>Strip with </em><em>2.13 ft </em><em>width can be used. </em>

<u>Solution-</u>

A club swimming pool is 21 ft wide and 41 ft long.

Hence, the perimeter of the swimming pool is

P=2(\text{Length}+\text{Width})=2(41+21)=2(62)=124\ ft

The club members want a uniform width border around the pool.

They have enough material for 264 ft²

As they will cover the perimeter of the rectangular pool, so the length of the total used strip is equal to the perimeter of the swimming pool.

Let the width of the strip is x ft

So, the total area of the used strip is,

A=\text{Length}\times \text{Width}

Putting the values,

\Rightarrow 264=124\times x

\Rightarrow x=\dfrac{264}{124}

\Rightarrow x=2.13\ ft

Therefore, strip with 2.13 ft width can be used.

Find the distance between the points P and Q shown. Question 6 options: A. 73−−√ B. 13−−√ C. 5–√ D. 65−−√
alexdok [17]

Answer:

d=\sqrt{73}

Step-by-step explanation:

Q(5, -1)

P(-3, 2)

<u>Using the distance formula</u>:

d=\sqrt{(x_{2}-x_{1})^2+(y_2+y_1)^2}

d=\sqrt{(-3-5)^2+(2-(-1))^2}

d=\sqrt{(-8)^2+(3)^2}

d=\sqrt{64+9}

d=\sqrt{64+9}

d=\sqrt{73}

d\approx 8.5

Vedmedyk [2.9K]

Answer:

The required simplest form is: \frac{2}{5}

Step-by-step explanation:

We have been given Kyle has 125 marbles.

And 50 out of total 125 are red and rest of them are other colours

that means other colour marble are 125-50=75

we need to find ratio of the number of red marbles to the total of marbles

The rat io is: \frac{50}{125}=\frac{2}{5}

The required simplest form is: \frac{2}{5}

What is the surface area of the composite figure? Round to the nearest tenth.
alexandr402 [8]

Answer:

2855.0

Step-by-step explanation:

there are several surface areas.

1. outside surface of the cylinder = circle circumference times height = 2*pi*r*height = 2*pi*14*14 = 1231.5

2. top and bottom of the cylinder = circle area times 2 = pi*r^2 * 2 = pi*14^2 *2 = also 1231.5

3. subtract the 2 cut out rectangles on the top and the bottom = 2* 6*14 = 168

4. add the areas of the inside walls of the cut out block.

there are 2 narrow rectangles = 2* 6*14 = 168

there are 2 squares = 2* 14*14 = 392

so, 1.+2.-3.+4. = 2855.0 (2855.00864...)
