slope formula is (y^2-y^1) / (x^2-x^1)

so you take two points on the line, for example, x=2 and x=0

input the x-values

y = 12(2)+8

y=32

y=12(0)+8

y=8

You are left with two coordinates: (2, 32) (and 0,8)

subtract

(8-32) / (0-2)

you end up with -24/-2

divide, and you get 12

the slope is 12

OR look at the equation and the number in front of the x value is the slope, that works too
