Read the excerpt from Simón Bolívar’s letter, “Reply of a South American to a Gentleman of this Island.” In which portion of the

text does he declare his homeland’s independence from colonial rule? Success will crown our efforts, because the destiny of America has been irrevocably decided; the tie that bound her to Spain has been severed. Only a concept maintained that tie and kept the parts of that immense monarchy together. That which formerly bound them now divides them. The hatred that the Peninsula has inspired in us is greater than the ocean between us. It would be easier to have the two continents meet than to reconcile the spirits of the two countries.

Answer:

"The tie that bound her to spain has been severed."

Explanation:

The text speaks about a colony of the Spanish empire that was dissatisfied with the European dominion in its territory. For this reason, the colony decided to become an independent country and thus cut its connection with Spain. The part of the text that makes this clear is:  "The tie that bound her to spain has been severed."

Based on events described in the text, what was the immediate reaction of women suffragists to the Fifteenth Amendment?
Tanya [424]

Answer:

Hello. You did not inform the text to which the question refers, but through research on the suffragette movement, we can say that the suffragettes repudiated this amendment and what it addressed.

Explanation:

The 15th amendment states that the government is prohibited from preventing citizens from voting on the basis of their skin color, race or previous condition of servitude. This amendment allowed blacks to vote, as they were free and citizens. However, the suffragettes rejected this decision and reacted with strong hostility to it. This regulation occurred because the 15th did not include women as citizens with the right to vote, that is, women were still denied to exercise their citizenship and actively participate in the government's political choices.

koban [17]
<span>The conquest was successful. With the siege of Istanbul, the Ottomans proceeded to establish hegemony over numerous independent Turkish states within Anatolia.
