<span>this is the steps to working the problem and the answer is 54: 3% means 3 out of each 100. if you have 100 items, 3% is just 3. You need more than 100 times as many (you want 354), so x must be more than 100 * 100, right? 3% of 10.62 is less than 1, and the problem says there are 354 :-)<span /></span>

The researcher is interested to know if policy A (new) is more effective than policy B (old). Frame the hypothesis and describe
vesna_86 [32]

<u>Answer:</u>

<u>Null hypothesis: Policy B remains more effective than policy A.</u>

<u>Alternate hypothesis: Policy A is more effective than policy B.</u>

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

Remember, a hypothesis is a  usually tentative (temporary until tested) assumption about two variables– independent and the dependent variable.

We have two types of hypothesis errors:

1. A type I error occurs when the null hypothesis (H0) is wrongly rejected.

That is, rejecting the assumption that policy B remains more effective than policy A when it is <em>actually true.</em>

2. A type II error occurs when the null hypothesis H0, is not rejected when it is actually false. That is, accepting the assumption that policy B remains more effective than policy A when it is <em>actually false.</em>

How would you solve cos(5x)=sin(10x) ?
Tomtit [17]
We will use double angle identities:
cos (5x ) = sin (10x )
cos (5x ) = 2 cos (5x ) sin ( 5x )
cos ( 5 x) - 2 cos ( 5 x ) sin ( 5x ) = 0
cos ( 5 x ) · [ 1 - 2 sin (5 x) ] = 0
cos ( 5 x ) = 0                    or :       1 - 2 sin (5 x) = 0
5 x = π/2 +kπ,  k∈Z                        sin (5 x) = 1/2
x1 = π/10 + kπ/5                           5 x = π/6+2kπ    , k∈ Z
                                                       5 x = 5π/6 +2kπ , k∈ Z
                                                       x 2 = π/30 +2kπ/5
                                                       x 3 = π/9  + 2kπ/5

Prove that: 5^31–5^29 is divisible by 100.
ANEK [815]

Answer:

See explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

Consider the expression

5^{31}-5^{29}

First, factor it:

5^{31}-5^{29}=5^{29}\cdot(5^2-1)=5^{29}\cdot (25-1)=24\cdot 5^{29}

Note that

100=25\cdot 4

Then

5^{31}-5^{29}=24\cdot 5^{29}=6\cdot 4\cdot 25\cdot 5^{27}=6\cdot 100\cdot 5^{27}

This shows that number 100 is a factor of the expression 5^{31}-5^{29} and, therefore, this expression is divisible by 100.
