Based on the example given, I'm guessing you're supposed to round to the nearest thousand, so that's what I'll do.

2. Round 5339 to 5000, multiply by 6 to get the estimate of  30,000.

3. Round $879 to $1000, multiply by 8 to get the estimate of $8000.

4. Round 3182 to 3000, multiply by 5 to get the estimate of 15,000.

5. Round 4616 to 5000, multiply by 3 to get the estimate of 15,000.

6. Round $2854 to $3000, multiply by 9 to get the estimate of $27,000.

7. Round 7500 to 8000, multiply by 2 to get the estimate of 16,000.

8. Round 948 to 1000, multiply by 7 to get the estimate of 7000.

a) 24% said they wanted to learn french.

To find total number of students surveyed divide the number of students that want to learn French by the percentage:

12 / 0.24 = 50

There were 50 students surveyed.

b) 36% wanted to learn Spanish, multiply 50 by 36%

50 * 0.36 = 18

18 students wanted to learn Spanish.

A quadrilateral has two angles that measure 222° and 81°. The other two angles are in a ratio of 6:13. What are the measures of
hram777 [196]

\sf\huge\underline{\star Solution:-}

\rightarrow <u>Ratio of two angles are 6:13.</u>

So, let the one angle be \sf{6x} and another be \sf{13x.}

As we know that,

Sum of all interior angles of a quadrilateral = \sf\pink{360°.}

So let's sum up the given angles,

\rightarrow \sf{222°+81°+6x+13x \:=\:  360°}

\rightarrow \sf{303+19x \:=\:  360°}

\rightarrow \sf{19x \:=\:  360-303}

\rightarrow \sf{19x \:=\:  57}

\rightarrow \sf{x \:=\:  \frac{19}{57}}

\rightarrow \sf{x \:=\:  3}

Hence, \sf{x \:=\:  3}

So, First angle \sf{= \:6x\: = \:6×3 \:=} \sf\purple{18°.}

Second angle \sf{= \:13x\: = \:13×3 \:=} \sf\purple{39°.}

How many ways can a person toss a coin 13 times so that the number of heads is between 7 and 10 inclusive?
maks197457 [2]

Answer:

4004

Step-by-step explanation:

The number of combinations of choosing r objects from a group of n is nCr.

So the number of ways to get 7, 8, 9, or 10 heads from 13 coin tosses is:

₁₃C₇ + ₁₃C₈ + ₁₃C₉ + ₁₃C₁₀

= 1716 + 1287 + 715 + 286

= 4004

Find the coordinates of the other endpoint when you are given the midpoint (point M) and one of the endpoints (point P)
satela [25.4K]
The known endpoint is P = (-16,0)

Let Q = (x,y) be the other endpoint. It is unknown for now.

Looking at the x coordinates of P and Q, we see that they are -16 and x respectively. Adding these values up gives -16+x. Dividing that result by 2 gives (-16+x)/2. This result is exactly equal to the midpoint x coordinate, which is the x coordinate of M (0).

So we have this equation (-16+x)/2 = 0. Let's solve for x

(-16+x)/2 = 0
2*(-16+x)/2 = 2*0
-16+x = 0
x-16 = 0
x-16+16 = 0+16
x = 16

Therefore the x coordinate of point Q is 16.

------------------------------------

Let's do something similar for the y coordinates.

The y coordinates of P and Q are 0 and y respectively. Add them up and divided by 2, then set the result equal to -16 (y coordinate of midpoint M) getting this equation (0+y)/2 = -16

Solve for y

(0+y)/2 = -16
y/2 = -16
2*y/2 = 2*(-16)
y = -32

The y coordinate of point Q is -32

------------------------------------

The point Q goes from (x,y) to (16, -32)

Final Answer: (16, -32)
