Answer:

32 units²

Step-by-step explanation:

This shape is made of 2 shapes that we know the formula for area. Those 2 shapes are 1 rectangle and 2 triangle's. We need to use the formula's to work out the area's of those 2 shape's and then add it together.

→ First of all the area of a triangle is 0.5 × base × height

→ The area of a rectangle is length × width

⇒ We will first work out the area of the triangle but we need the values. The height would 4 and the base length would be 4 so we put these values into the formula,

0.5 × base × height

0.5 × 4 × 4 = 8

So 8 units² is the area of the triangle.

But we have 2 triangles so we double this value so 16 units² is the area of the 2 triangle's

⇒ Now time to work out the area of the rectangle. The length is 4 and the width is 4 so

Width × Length

4 × 4 = 16

So the area of the rectangle is 16 units²

Now we add the two area's together so

16 + 16 = 32 units²

7. and 8. (ignore these numbers)

Please answer correctly for brainly
horrorfan [7]

Ascending order means from lowest to highest, so to write these in ascending order.....

4.8 would be the lowest. Then, √26. This equals about 5.1.

Next would be 5.5. And finally, 2 + √22.  √22 = about 4.6.    2 + 4.6 = 6.6

4.8    √26     5.5     2 + √22

There is your answer!

Use the image below to answer the following question. Find the value of sin x° and cos y°. What relationship do the ratios of si
SVETLANKA909090 [29]

Using trigonometric relations, we will see that for the given right triangle:

sin(x°) = 3/5

cos(y°) = 3/5

How to find the wanted values?

Remember that for a right triangle for any of the internal angles that are not 90°.

sin(a) = (opposite cathetus)/(hypotenuse)

cos(a) = (adjacent cathetus)/(hypotenuse).

In this case, the two cathetus measure 4 units and 3 units, so the hypotenuse measures:

H = \sqrt{4^2 + 3^2} = 5

Then for x°, the opposite cathetus measures 3 units, then we have:

sin(x°) = 3/5

And for y°, the adjacent cathetus also measures 3 units, so:

cos(y°) = 3/5

These are equal because both depend on the same cathetus of the right triangle.

Travka [436]

Answer: the rate of the westbound train is 85 mph.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x represent the rate of the westbound train. The westbound train travels 10 miles per hour slower than the eastbound train. It means that the rate of the eastbound train is (x + 10) mph.

The two trains leave the station at the same time. The total distance covered by both trains after 3 hours is 540 miles.

Distance = speed × time

Distance covered by the westbound train in 3 hours is 3x.

Distance covered by the eastbound train in 3 hours is 3(x + 10)

Therefore,

3x + 3(x + 10) = 540

3x + 3x + 30 = 540

6x = 540 - 30 = 510

x = 510/6 = 85 mph
