After the revolutionary war which branch of government and the states Make more powerful
Sedbober [7]
By the end of the revolutionary war the new government was formed as a confederation of independent states which were loosely linked to one another.

While initially seen as a strength, things eventually became difficult to manage as many states started to print their own money, make their own international trade pacts and were even building their own independent military.

This was seen as a threat to a new nation and constitutional convention was conducted in Philadelphia. 12 out of the 13 States participated in this convention with the aim of providing some kind of a homogeneity to the new country.

By the end of the convention, the constitution gave way to 3 different branches of government which still form the core of the United States:

1. The Legislative Branch

2. The Executive Branch

3. The Judicial Branch

Chapter #8: What is represented metaphorically through
zubka84 [21]

Answer:

The killing of the sow represents the boys' loss of innocence in the land and their desperation without a mother figure.

Explanation:

William Golding's Lord of the Flies is a story about a group of young boys stranded on an island after their plane crashed. Their life on the island and their gradual loss of order and civilization is shown in the story.

Chapter 8: Gift for the Darkness reveals the boys' killing of the sow and the piglets. Under the leadership of Jack, the group of boys killed the pigs and put her head on a stick. This act of beheading the sow is representative of the group's loss of innocence in being motherless in a deserted land. The sow's death is the missing mother figure in the young boys' lives. The sow and her young piglets are representative of the innocence of nature. And when they are murdered, the innocence was lost.
