Answer:

ΔVUW ≅ ΔXYW

Step-by-step explanation:

These triangles are congruent by Angle-Side-Angle (ASA) Theorem. This is because they both share two corresponding congruent angles, being Angle U and Angle Y, and Angle VUW and Angle XYW (they're vertical angles, meaning they're congruent).

They also share a corresponding congruent side, being Side UW and Side YW. You can tell because of the congruent dash marks on the sides, that have already been given to you.

Answer:

The area of the pentagon is = 31.5

Step-by-step explanation:

<em>First, we determine the perimeter of the "Pentagon" drawn in the attachment:</em>

p=4+4+4+4.5+4.5=21

<em>Now, we'll check the formula for pentagons:</em>

a=\frac{perimeter x apothem}{2}

<em>we calculate the apothem by placing a 90° angle in one of the sides of the shape. It is equal to:</em>

apothem=3

<em>then, we can substitute the values in the formula</em>

a=\frac{21(perimeter) x 3(apothem)}{2} =\frac{63}{2} =31 \frac{1}{2} or 31.5

How do you know when ratios are equivalent and when they are not equivalent
White raven [17]
Ratios are equivalent when that can be reduced or multiplied to be the same number.
Ex) 1:4 is the same as 2:8 or 4:16
10:20 is the same as 8:16 or 1:2

They are not equivalent if you can’t do this
