EXTRA WORDS IN A SENTENCE THAT ADD DETAIL AND ARE SET OFF BY COMMAS ARE CALLED ___ ELEMENTS
KIM [24]
Extra words in a sentence that add detail and are set off by commas are called nonessential elements. This is because they are not essential to the sentence and story, they are simply an added bonus, without them the sentence still makes sense.

What does scout think of her school`s new style of education
Vikentia [17]
Since you used the name Scout, I'm guessing this is about "To Kill a Mockingbird". Hopefully I'm correct, but here we go. Scout has a new teacher when she starts going to school again. Scout already knows how to read. Every night, she and Atticus had read books together, and he had therefore taught her to read. Now, in school, they were learning to read. Since Scout had already learnt, she didn't need help. The teacher, however, did not like this. (Sorry, I can't remember the teacher's name for the life of me!) The teacher told Scout to tell Atticus that they can't read together anymore. Scout is very obviously upset.  She believes she should be able to read with Atticus because she is learning, after all. So, she dislikes the school's new approach to teaching. Hope this helps you!

Which sentence uses consistent verb tenses in telling a story?
lilavasa [31]
If you want to use consistent verb tenses in telling a story, that means you have to use the same tense, or at least they all should be in the past/present/future, depending on the first verb in the sentence. Here, the correct answer is:
B) I met Rob for the first time in the school infirmary, and he smiled at me even though he was clearly in pain.
