A hot air balloon rising vertically is tracked by an observer located 4 km from the lift‑off point. At a certain moment, the ang

le between the observer's line of sight and the horizontal is π/5, and it is changing at a rate of 0.4 rad/min. How fast is the balloon rising at this moment? Let y be the height of the balloon (in km), t be time (in minutes), and θ the angle between the line‑of‑sight and the horizontal (in radians).

Answer:

1.22 km/min

Step-by-step explanation:

Let Q be baloon height at a time t. Our goal is to determine the speed of the baloon at the moment.

The dy / dt velocity of the baloon when = π/5?

So we can restate the question as follows:

Owing to the fact d / dt = 0.2 rad / min at some stage = π/5

from fig:

tanθ = y/4

Differentiating w.r.t "t"

sec2 θ * dθ/dt = 1/4(dy/dt)

=> dy/dt = (4/cos2 θ)dθ/dt

At the given moment θ =  and dθ/dt = 0.2 rad/min.

dy/dt = (4/cos2)* (0.2)

= 1.22 km/min

And the velocity of the baloon currently is 1.22 km / min.

How do I do this please help I'm in tears
irakobra [83]
F(x) is vertically stretched by a factor of 5/4 matches w/ f(x)-5/4
f(x) reflects the x axis matches w/ -f(x)
f(x) is translated 5/4 units up matches with f(x)+5/4
f(x) translated 5/4 to the left matches w/ f(x)-5/4

I didn't really know about this one but it seemed kind of easy, what was your first guesses and did you forget to put one more or was the question like that.

Hope this is right :) or if someone else has a different answer but in the meantime, good luck :)

What is the equation of a line with a y-intercept at (0, 2) and a slope of 3? a. y = 2 x + 3 c. y = 3 x + 2 b. y = 3 x minus 2 d
lukranit [14]

Answer:

C) y = 3x + 2

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the slope of the line, m = 3, and the coordinates of the y-intercept, (0, 2).

We can substitute these values into the following slope-intercept form, y = mx + b, where:

m = slope

b = the y-coordinate of the y-intercept.

Therefore, the correct answer is option C, where it shows the equation of the line in slope-intercept form is: y = 3x + 2.

Step-by-step explanation:

Considering the equation

                         \left(4x\:-\:8\right)\left(3x\:+\:9\right)\:=\:0

solving the equation

\left(4x\:-\:8\right)\left(3x\:+\:9\right)\:=\:0

\mathrm{Using\:the\:Zero\:Factor\:Principle:\quad \:If}\:ab=0\:\mathrm{then}\:a=0\:\mathrm{or}\:b=0\:\left(\mathrm{or\:both}\:a=0\:\mathrm{and}\:b=0\right)

\mathrm{Solve\:}\:4x-8=0

4x-8=0

4x-8+8=0+8

4x=8

x=2

\mathrm{Solve\:}\:3x+9=0
