Answer:

x=14

Step-by-step explanation:

1. 4x-24+2=6x-6      Break the parenthesis (distributive property)

2. 4x-22=6x-6         Combine like terms

3. 22=2x-6               Minus 4x to each side

4. 28=2x                  Add 6 to each side

5. 14=x                     Divide each side by 2

Mrs. Kelly creates a garden. She buys 15 flowers and 3 bushes for a total cost of $160.32. Each bush costs $11.50 more than each
m_a_m_a [10]

Each bush costs $18.49

Step-by-step explanation:

Mrs. Kelly creates a garden

  • She buys 15 flowers and 3 bushes for a total cost of $160.32
  • Each bush costs $11.50 more than each flower

We need to find how much each bush costs

Assume that the cost of each flower is $x and the cost of each

bush is $y

∵ She by 15 flowers and 3 bushes for a total cost $160.32

∵ The cost of each flower is $x

∵ The cost of each bush is $y

∴ 15x + 3y = 160.32 ⇒ (1)

∵ Each bush costs $11.50 more than each flower

- That mean equate y by x plus 11.50

∴ y = x + 11.50 ⇒ (2)

Now we have system of equations to solve it

Substitute y in equation (1) by equation (2)

∵ 15x + 3(x + 11.50) = 160.32

- Simplify the left hand side

∴ 15x + 3x + 34.5 = 160.32

- Add like terms in the left hand side

∴ 18x + 34.5 = 160.32

- Subtract 34.5 from both sides

∴ 18x = 125.82

- Divide both sides by 18

∴ x = 6.99

Substitute the value of x in equation (2) to find y

∵ y = 6.99 + 11.5

∴ y = 18.49

Each bush costs $18.49

During a rainstorm a pail collects 1/3 of an inch of water in 5/6 of a minute. At what rate is the pail collecting water?
Delicious77 [7]

Answer:

2/5 of an inch per minute

Step-by-step explanation:

You can set up the rate as  \frac{1/3}{5/6}.  From here to find the amount of rain per minute, just multiply the numerator and denominator by 6/5 (The reciprocal of 5/6, so you can have one minute and see how much rains fills up in that time.)

You end with 2/5 of and inch per minute

Answer:

y = x^2+3x-4 y=3x+5

(3, 14)

Step-by-step explanation:

hope this helps and have a nice day!! :)

And also you should try to use Desmos calculator it really helps with these problem/ equations!! you just have to put y = x^2+3x-4 then press enter and on the second one you put  y=3x+5 and then it shows you a graph and plus the answer!! :))
