She bought N pencils last month for 288, as the amount is in pennies. This month she bought N+12 for 720.

288/N = 720 / (N+12)
288(N+12) = 720N
288N + 3456 = 720N
3456 = 720N - 288N
3456=432N
N=8

She bought 8 pencils last month for 288, which is 36 cents each. And she bought 20 pencils this month for 720 which is 36 cents each. Hope this helped :)

-5x^2=-500 what is the answer
omeli [17]

Answer:

x = ± 10

Step-by-step explanation:

- 5x² = - 500 ( divide both sides by - 5 )

x² = 100 ( take square root of both sides )

x = ± \sqrt{100} = ± 10

That is x = - 10 or x = 10

What is the solution to the equation log(2x + 4) = 2? Round to the nearest thousandth, if necessary.
Kazeer [188]

Answer: 48

Step-by-step explanation:

log_{b}M=n--> M=b^{n} \\log(2x+4)=2\\b=10, M=2x+4, n= 2 \\\\2x+4=10^{2} \\2x+4=100\\2x=96\\x=48

Tickets to Dundee crowns mr.dchs are $3 for students and $5 for adults. The number of adult tickets sold was 195 more than the n
Maurinko [17]

Answer: number of tickets sold to adult = 566

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x = number of tickets sold by DCHS to students.

Let y = number of tickets sold DCHS to adults.

Tickets to Dundee crowns mr.dchs are $3 for students and $5 for adults.

This means cost of total tickets sold to students and adults is $3x and $5y respectively.

If DCHS collected $3943 for the tickets, then we have

3x + 5y = 3943 - - - - - -1

The number of adult tickets sold was 195 more than the number of student tickets. This means

y = x +195.

Put y = x +195 in equation 1

3x + 5(x+195) = 3943

3x + 5x + 975= 3943

8x +975=3943

8x = 3943-975= 2968

x = 2968/8 = 371

y = 371 + 195= 566

Kalsom answers 25 questions in math tests. He scored 81% to 93%. Calculate all possible number of questions successfully answere
cricket20 [7]

Answer:

21 and 22

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's work backward from that 81%:  x/25 = 0.81 yields x = 20.25.  Nominally, 20.25 / 25 = 0.81, but x must be an integer.  Let's round 20.25 off to 20.

Thus, if Kalsom got 81%, it was a result of his having done 20 questions correctly.

81% corresponds to 20 questions correct;

82% to 20.5 questions correct, or, rounding up, to 21 questions correct;

83% to 20.75, or 21;

84% to 21 questions correct; this is the only result that makes sense (whole number of questions answered correctly)

85% to 21.25;

86% to 21.5;

87% to 21.75;

88% to 22 questions correct (this makes sense, unlike the last three)

89% to 22.25;

90% to 22.5;

91% to 22.75;

Assuming that the number of questions correct MUST be integer, then the possible number correct are 21 and 22, corresponding to 84% and 88% respectively.
