Hey there!

The formula for the volume of a cylinder is \pi r^{2} h, which is essentially the base multiplied by the height.

If our diameter is six, then our radius is three, so we can solve for our base below. We will use 3.14 for pi.

3^{2}(3.14)=28.26

Now, we multiply this by our height of four.

28.26(4)=113.04

Therefore, our volume is 113.04 cubic units.

I hope this helps!

The production cost, represented by y, of smart phone devices are equal to the product of computing components (a) and the squar
Marta_Voda [28]

The production cost is an illustration of a quadratic function

How to determine the equation

We have the following parameters:

 • Computing components (a)
 • Number of devices (x),
 • Labor (b)
 • Savings on reusable material (c)

Using the instructions in the question, the equation of the production cost would be:

y =ax^2 + bx -c

Hence, the production cost is y =ax^2 + bx -c

Change the subject of the equation

In (a), we have:

y =ax^2 + bx -c

Subtract bx - c from both sides

y - bx + c = ax^2

Divide through by x^2

a = \frac{y - bx + c}{x^2}

Hence, the equation that represents the computing component is a = \frac{y - bx + c}{x^2}

Answer: 32.35 cm^2

Step by step:

Find the area of the rectangle first.

A= L • W
A= 11 • 4.2
A= 46.2 cm^2

Then find the area of the circle. The formula is A= pi (r)^2. The diameter of the circle is 4.2 cm because looking at the width of the rectangle it fits into the circle as well.

Half of the diameter is 2.1 cm which is the radius.

A= pi (r)^2
A= pi (2.1)^2
A= pi (4.41)
A= 13.85 cm^2

Then you would subtract 13.85 from 46.2 to find the shaded portion.

Hope this helps :))
