If there is an appeal in a lower court they must obtain permission or leave to appeal from the court.The cases as well referred to “as of right” an appeal is not required.These include certain criminal cases and appeals from opinions pronounced by courts of appeal on matters referred to them by the provincial government. Thirdly, the court provides advisory opinions on questions referred to it by the governor in council. Basically the court comes to a decision making process and consult with important people idk it’s super confusing i hope that helps somewhat
