1. 2X + 1 = Y<br> 2Y = 6<br> Show your work
slamgirl [31]

Answer:

x = 1

y = 3

Step-by-step explanation:

2x + 1 = y ------- eqn (1)

2y = 6--------eqn (2)

from eqn(2)

2y = 6

y = 3

when you divide 6 by 2y

substitute y = 3 into eqn (1)

2x + 1 = y

2x + 1 = 3

2x = 3-1

2x = 2

therefore

x = 1

I'm a freshman and have daily cry sessions before and after my Algebra I classes. What the heck is Rational and Irrational numbe
const2013 [10]

a fraction is a representation of a proportion, like say you have a pizza and cut it in 6 pieces, each piece is 1/6 of the pizza, \bf \cfrac{\stackrel{\textit{how many units}}{1}}{\stackrel{\textit{total available units}}{6}}.

the total number of available slices in the pizza is 6, you cut it in 6 slices, and a single unit of it or just 1, is 1/6 or one sixth of the pizza.

in short, a rational number is one you can write as a fraction, and an irrational number is one that can't be written as a fraction, a good example of those are π , or e euler's constant or √2.

Jason tossed a fair coin 3 times. What is the probability of getting a head and two tails in any order 1.3/8 2.4/8 3.5/8 4.6/8 p
ladessa [460]

Answer:

1. 3/8

Step-by-step explanation:

Total tossed times = 3

Total Possibilities = 8

Possibilities = (Head, Head, Head), (Tails,Tail,Tails), (Head,Head,Tails), (Head,Tail,Head), (Tails,Head,Head), (Head,Tail,Tail), (Tail,Tail,Head), (Tail,Head,Tail)

Number of options with a head and two tails = 3

So, Probability = Number of correct options ÷ Number of total possibilities

= 3 ÷ 8 or 3/8

In the xy- plane, the graph of the equation y + 3x + 5 is a line that intersects the y-axis at (0,b) what is the value of b?
maxonik [38]

Answer:

b=5

Step-by-step explanation:

The given equation is:

y=3x+5

To find the point where this line intersect the y-axis, we put x=0 into the given equation.

When x=0, we have y=3(0)+5.

This implies that; y=5.

The y-intercept is (0,5).

Comparing (0,5) to (0,b), we can conclude that; b=5
