Of a non-volatile solute is dissolved in 365.0 g of water. the solute does not react with water nor dissociate in solution. assu
kolbaska11 [484]
By using this formula of vapor pressure:
Pv(solu)= n Pv(water)
when we have Pv(solu)=231.16 torr & Pv(water)= 233.7 torr
from this formula, we can get n (mole fraction of water) by substitution:
231.16 = n * 233.7
∴ n(mole fraction of water) = 0.99
so mole fraction of solution = 1 - 0.99 = 0.01
when no.of moles of water = mass weight / molar weight
                                             = 365g / 18g/mol = 20 moles
Total moles in solution =  moles of water / mole fraction of water
                                      = 20 / 0.99 =20.2
no. of moles of the solution= total moles in solution- moles of water
                                              = 20.2 - 20 = 0.2 moles
when we assumed the mass weight of the solution = 16 g (missing in your question should be given)
∴ molar mass = mass weight of solute / no. of moles of solute
                        = 16 g / 0.2 mol = 80 g/mol

MrRissso [65]
The volume will decrease, because as the temperature is lowered, the atoms will move slowler and they won't fill as much the balloon

What do cuticles do for land plants that was not necessary for ancestors that lived in water?
Vera_Pavlovna [14]

Answer:

What do cuticles do for land plants that was not necessary for ancestors that lived in water? Cuticles help prevent water loss. ... The next groups of land plants to evolve were ferns, which could grow bigger and taller because they could transport water and food.

Coal can be converted to methane gas by a process called coal gasification. The equation for the reaction is the following: 2 C
zloy xaker [14]

Answer:

24 g of C are needed to produce 1mol of CH₄

Explanation:

The reaction is:

2C (s) +  2H2O (l) → CH4(g) + CO2 (g)

2 moles of carbon react with 2 moles of water in order to produce 1 mol of methane and 1 mol of carbon dioxide.

If we want to produce 1 mol of methane, we need 2 moles of C

Let's find out the mass → 2 mol . 12 g/1 mol = 24g

For each compound below, identify any polar covalent bonds and indicate the direction of the dipole moment using the symbols 84
Lostsunrise [7]

Answer:

H+  ----- Br-

H+  ----- Cl-

O₋₋ -----2H++

CH3 ----- O-   ------ H+

Explanation:

Dipole moment occurs when there is bonding between a very strong electronegative element and hydrogen atom.

Electronegative elements are the element which attract electrons towards themselves, (that is they have strong affinity for electrons).

Generally, group 7 elements (Fluorine, Chlorine, Bromine, Iodine) of the periodic table are highly electronegative
