Answer:

C

Step-by-step explanation:

The picture is a bit blurry, but from what i can see, i'd say C (whichever one has -4 x 3 x 1 under the square root.)

So for this, you need to know the quadratic formula, which is:

\frac{-b ± \sqrt{b^{2} -4ac} }{2a}

<em>*ignore the weird capital A, it keeps coming up when i try to use the ± symbol</em>

They have given you the equation of a quadratic, so the first thing you have to do is rearrange it, so that x^{2} comes first.

<u>So now we have the equation: 3</u>x^{2}<u> - 2x +1</u>

*the quadratic formula uses a, b and c, but they are specific. a is always the coefficient of x^{2} , b is always the coefficient of x and c is always the constant (number without an x)

<u>So, i can find that, in this case:</u>

a = 3      b= -2    c=1

<u>Now substitute each of those values it into the original quadratic equation:</u>

<u />

\frac{-(-2) ± \sqrt{(-2)^{2} -4(3)(1)} }{2(3)}

<em>*again, ignore the weird capital A. </em>

That's how you find the answer, which from what i can tell in the picture is C.

Hope that helped : )

Math Formulas

Math formulas are expressions that have been created after several decades of research that help to solve questions quickly. It is easy to perform simple arithmetic calculations such as addition, subtraction, and so on. However, when it comes to algebraic expressions, geometry, and other topics you need mathematical formulas to simplify the process of reaching the answer and saving time in the process. At Cuemath you will not only find formulas for every topic but will also get an idea of how that equation was developed. Thus, you will not have to memorize formulas, as you understand the concept behind them.

Use these formulas to solve problems creatively and you will automatically see an improvement in your mathematical skills. Given below is the list of formulas alphabetically arranged for your convenience. Hence, you can easily find formulas that need to be revised or require to be referenced.

The links to the list of math formulas available on different topics have been arranged alphabetically for your convenience. So pick a topic and start learning!

Lady bird [3.3K]

Answer:

FJ = 32

IJ = 24

FG = 48

Step-by-step explanation:

Getting Started with FG

\frac{IH}{AB} =\frac{FG}{ED}

\frac{72}{36} =\frac{FG}{24}

\frac{FG}{24} =2

FG=24(2)=48

The proportion between polygons is 2:1

IJ=2CB

IJ=2(12)=24

FJ=2BC=2(16)=32

Hope this helps

Find the smallest power of 10 that will exceed M. Let M = 118,526.65902.
zavuch27 [327]

Answer:

The smallest power of 10 that will exceed M is 10^{6}.

Step-by-step explanation:

We can use the following approach to determine the smallest power of 10 that will exceed M. We can transform that number into scientific notation, which is of the form:

x.y \times 10^{n}, \forall \,x,y\in \mathbb{N}

Where:

x - Integer part, formed by a digit, which is of the highest order.

y - Decimal part, formed by a digit onwards.

n - Power grade.

The smallest power of 10 that will exceed M is 10^{n+1}

If M = 118,526.65902, then, the power grade is number of spaces that dot must be moved leftwards. In this case, dot must be moved 5 spaces on the left. The integer part is 1 and the decimal part is 1852665902. Then, the value of M in scientific notation is:

M = 1.1852665902\times 10^{5}

Then, the smallest power of 10 that will exceed M is 10^{6}.
