Answer:

257 cm or  2.57 Meters

Step-by-step explanation:

Height of ceiling = 2.75 meters

Height of ceiling in centimetre= 2.75*100 = 275 cm ( as 1 m = 100 cm)

It is given that when Clara jumped she was short of 18 cm to touch the ceiling .

So, it can be concluded that difference of ceiling's height   and  Clara's jump is 18 cm

Difference of height of ceiling  and  Clara's jump = 18 cm

Height of ceiling -height of Clara's jump = 18 cm

275 - height of Clara's jump = 18 cm

=>height of Clara's jump = 275 - 18 = 257 cm.

Thus , Clara can jump 257 cm high.

In meters, she can jump 257/100 = 2.57 Meters ( As 1 m= 100 cm).

Work out the total change:

76 - 46 = 30

Divide this by the number of days:

30/5 = 6

As the temperature decreased, it would have a minus value in front of it

Thus, the answer is option B

Suppose the half-life of a decaying radioactive isotope is 674 years. How long will it takefor the isotope to decay from 100 gra
KonstantinChe [14]

The half life formula is :

N(t)=N_o(\frac{1}{2})^{\frac{t}{T}}

where N(t) = remaining quantity after t years

No = Original Quantity

t = time in years

T = half life in years

From the problem, we have :

N(t) = 30 grams

No = 100 grams

T = 674

Solve for t :

\begin{gathered} 30=100(\frac{1}{2})^{\frac{t}{674}} \\ \frac{30}{100}=(\frac{1}{2})^{\frac{t}{674}} \\ \frac{3}{10}=(\frac{1}{2})^{\frac{t}{674}} \end{gathered}

Take ln of both sides :

\begin{gathered} \ln (\frac{3}{10})=\ln (\frac{1}{2})^{\frac{t}{674}} \\ \ln (\frac{3}{10})=\frac{t}{674}\ln (\frac{1}{2}) \\ t=\frac{674\ln (\frac{3}{10})}{\ln (\frac{1}{2})} \\ t=1170.71 \end{gathered}

The answer is t = 1170.71 years
