Answer:

a)10

b)5120

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that number of ants double after every ten days, form a table that shows numbe of ants from day 1 to day 91

Day                                                  Number of Ants

1                                                                       10

11                                                                      20

21                                                                     40

31                                                                     80

41                                                                     160

<em>51                                                                    320-----------------given</em>

<em>61                                                                    640------------------given</em>

<em>71                                                                    1280----------------given</em>

81                                                                   2560

91                                                                    5120

Using the given values for number of ants and the number of days, you can notice the trend for values of days and number of ants.After every ten days, number of ants doubles.Using this information, you can navigate backwards up to day 1 and forward up to day 91

Find an exponential function that fits the information (hint: putting them in a table may help you see).
Vilka [71]

Answer:

f(x)=8*(3.5)^x

Step-by-step explanation:

2=98

3= 98r

4= 98r^2

5= 98r^3

6= 98r^4

98r^4/98, 98 crosses out and its just r^4. r^4= 14706.125/98

r=3.5

So you plug that in and you get f(x)=8*(3.5)^x

I hope this helped. XD

Hello from MrBillDoesMath!

Answer:

Positive x-intercept =  + sqrt(3)

Negative x-intercept = - sqrt(3)

Discussion:

Generally, the x-intercept of a function g(x) occurs where g(x) = 0. In our case this is

g(x) = 0   =>

3x^2 - 9 = 0     =>                         (add 9 to both sides of the equation)

3 x^2      = 9    =>                         (divide both sides by 3)

x^2 = 9/3 = 3  =>

x = +\- sqrt (3)

Positive x-intercept =  + sqrt(3)

Negative x-intercept = - sqrt(3)

Thank you,
