Answer:

Part A: The graph of the system is plotted at y-intercepts of 3 and -4. The line of the first equation is dashed and shaded below. The line of the second equation is dashed and shaded above. The solution area is between the second and third quadrants.

Part B: No, the point (-4, 6) is not in the solution are because it only fits into the first equations solution area. [6=2(-4)+3 solved is 6=-5, this is not a true statement.]

Step-by-step explanation:

Part A: Each equation {y>2x+3, y<-3/2x-4} is already in slope intercept form and can be graphed. In the first equation we know that there is a y-intercept of 3 and a slope of 2. This is shown as as a upward moving line with plot points such as (-2,-1), (-1,1), (0,4), (1,6), and so on. In the second equation we know that there is a y-intercept of -4 and a slope of -3/2. This is shown as a downward moving line with plot points such as (0,-4), (-2,-1), (-4, 2), and so on. (See graph below)

Part B: The plot point (-4, 6) is not included in the solution area of the systems. This can be seen on the graph. And, proven mathematically by plugging in the point into the equations:

  1. y=2x+3 plug in the points (6)=2(-4)+3
  2. solve (6)=2(-4)+3 ... 2(-4)=-8 ... -8+3=-5 ... 6 = -5 is not a true statement

So, already we know that this plot point is not an answer to the system. Let's continue anyway.

  1. y=-3/2x-4 plug in the points (6)=-3/2(-4)-4
  2. solve (6)=-3/2(-4)-4 ... -3/2(-4)= 6 ... 6-4 = 2 ... 6=2 is not a true statement.

What is the distance around a triangle that has sides measuring 2 1/8 feet, 3 1/2 feet, and 2 1/2 feet?
Alex787 [66]
Hi!
A is the answer:⏬⏬⏬⏬⏬⏬⏬⏬

The distance around a triangle, better noun as de "perimeter of a triangle"

is the total distance around the outside, which can be found by adding together the length of each side.

Perimeter (P) = Length A + Length B + Lenght C

In this case, we know that each side measure 2 \frac{1}{8}81 feet, 3 \frac{1}{2}21 feet, and 2 \frac{1}{2}21feet  but we have to rewrite each one of this mixed fractions as improper fractions:

2 \frac{1}{8}81 = \frac{16 + 1}{8}816+1 = \frac{17}{8}817

3 \frac{1}{2}21 = \frac{6 + 1}{2}26+1 = \frac{7}{2}27

2 \frac{1}{2}21 = \frac{4 + 1}{2}24+1 = \frac{5}{2}25

Then we just add all of them to find the perimeter:

 = \frac{17 + 28 + 20}{8}817+28+20 = \frac{65}{8}865

A: The distance around a triangle is \frac{65}{8}865feet

What is the distance between (4, 7)(4,7)left parenthesis, 4, comma, 7, right parenthesis and (2, 2)(2,2)left parenthesis, 2, com
tester [92]

Answer: square root of 29

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the question :

Distance between (4, 7) and (2, 2)

Distance between two points is given by:

Distance = sqrt[(X2 - X1)² + (Y2 - Y1)²]

X1 = 4 ; Y1 = 7 ; X2 = 2 ; Y2 = 2

Distance = sqrt[(2 - 4)² + (2 - 7)²]

Distance = sqrt[(-2² + - 5²)]

= sqrt(4 + 25)

= sqrt(29)

One-third of the students at the local community college live in the county. If there are 2037 students enrolled, how many do no
densk [106]

Answer:

ow many students are enrolled in community colleges? ... How does the population of community college students break down by race/ethnicity and income? ... What percentage of community college students obtain a college credential? ... How many community college students complete their remedial requirements?

Step-by-step explanation:

Provisional National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) data on unduplicated year-round enrollment (as opposed to fall enrollment only) indicate that 8.2 million undergraduates were enrolled in public two-year colleges in 2018–19.

In fall 2018, 5.6 million students were enrolled in public, two-year colleges. About 2 million were full-time students, and 3.6 million were part-time.

The National Student Clearinghouse Research Center estimates that 5.4 million students were enrolled in public two-year colleges in fall 2019, down 1.4% from fall 2018.

However, these studies underestimate the number of community college students, as about 100 community colleges offer a small number of bachelor’s degree programs and thus are listed in NCES as four-year institutions. According to a CCRC analysis correcting for this misclassification, 6.7 million students were enrolled at community colleges in fall 2017, and nearly 10 million students enrolled at a community college at some point during the 2017-18 academic year.
