Question:

A hawk has a genetic trait that gives it much better eyesight than other hawks of the same species in the same area. Explain how this could lead to evolutionary change within this species of a hawk over a long period of time. In your answer, be sure to include an explanation of:

A. competition within the hawk population

B. survival of various individuals in the population

C. how the frequency of the better-eyesight trait would be expected to change over time within the population

D. what would most likely happen to the hawks having the better-eyesight trait if they also had unusually weak wing muscles

Answer:

The simple answer is via natural selection.

As hawks compete for relatively scarce food those whose eye-sight is sharper get a better chance of winning the food.

As they win more and more food, they become stronger and stronger and get better at getting even more food whilst the population that can't get enough food die out of starvation.

Another element of natural selection is that of genetics. The hawks that are stronger due to their ability to compete for a food stand a better chance of passing on their genes to the females within the population who most likely would also defer to stronger males than the weaker ones.

So essentially, physically and genetically, the hawks with the better eyesight get to survive the harsh realities of the wild because sharp eyesight is essential for spotting the prey.

In some cases, there are hawks with weak muscle wings. Weak muscle wings mean that they will be as disadvantaged as the hawks with poor outsight and will eventually share the same fate with them.

The winning hawk is the one with both sharp eye sights, sharp beaks for tearing flesh faster than the other, strong wings for quick dive, sharp talons for holding on to prey that has been captured, etc.

Over time, the population of hawks with the stronger traits such as sharp eyesight will increase whilst the other will decrease and as earlier explained, this will happen due to natural selection - a survival of the fittest.

Cheers!

PLEASE HELP OR I WONT GRADUATE !!!! 20 points Suppose the demand for air travel decreases (as illustrated in the graph below) A
schepotkina [342]

Answer:

- decreases, decreases

Explanation:

Initially travel supply and demand have their equilibrium at the intersection between the supply curve (green) and the demand curve (red) where price is P1 and quantity is Q2. When demand decreases, the quantity demanded decreases to Q1. By the law of supply and demand, when demand decreases the price tends to fall. This is what happens on this chart, where decreasing demand leads to decreasing price, now the new price is P2. Thus, the new equilibrium is the result of decreasing demand quantity and price and is established by crossing the supply curve (green) and the new demand curve (purple) at points P2 and Q1.

Natalija [7]

Answer:

is a two-stage overhead cost allocation system that identifies activity cost pools and cost drivers.

Explanation:

Normally two stage allocation cost consists of certain steps. First, it is necessary to identify indirect costs that all the implied departments could carry even including the production department. Then, it would be necessary to calculate al the indirect and direct costs necessary to develop the final product including hours of work, machinery, and all the necessary elements implied for the final development.

The official definition of the money supply that includes coins, paper money, travelers' checks, conventional checking accounts,
Maru [420]

Answer:

M1

Explanation:

In economics, the term M1 refers to very liquid money supply (money that is easy to get to) that includes the following:

 • physical currency (coins and paper money)
 • demand deposits,
 • traveler's checks,
 • other checkable deposits.

On the other, hand, M2 is less liquid money supply and it includes M1 plus:

 • savings and time deposits,
 • certificates of deposits,
 • money market funds.

In general terms, the main difference between these two is how easy is to get access to them, M1 is more accessible (more liquid) than M2.

The question asks us about the money supply that includes coins, paper money, traveler's checks, conventional checking accounts and checkable deposits. We can see that all these refers to the most easily accessed money supply and thus this is the definition of M1
